I tried to tell her that Devon is hit or miss when it comes to wiping but she wouldn't listen.

Karma

Anyone that knows me is aware of my love for teaching Karma... I think it may have been Devon's second word. I think it's important for both the kids to understand that thier choices effect others and if they do something mean to someone else there is a pretty good chance it will come back to bite them in the bumper. Having said that, I'd like to revisit a bit of my Monday morning.

We're late (what else is new) Katie and I are about to head out the door and Dev decides he really needs me to put on his shoes before I go. As I'm kneeling in front of him I look up and I can see right up his nose and he has a huge bat in the cave. I let him know we need to blow his nose and he decides that's a terrible idea and it takes me 5 min to get him to stand still to get it taken care of.

As I'm walking away from him I run into the doorknob on the closet (I'm convinced those things stick out farther than they should, my next home will have pocket doors) from behind me Dev yells "And what's that called?" When I turn around to say "huh?", we make eye contact he yells out "KARMA" in the same sing-song way that I always say it to him.

If he'd just remember to change his unders daily I'd say my work here was done.

A girl and her daddy

Our little girl loves her daddy something fierce! Her favorite place to be is on his lap and when he isn't in her line of sight she wanders around looking for him. Tonight he was at a board meeting and she spent the whole evening asking "Where papa?" over and over again. She even calls me papamama, yeah papa's name is first. I'm okay with it tho, I know what it's like to adore your dad.

Mmmm Chocolate!

Katie has decided she likes chocolate... a lot! But it has to be dark chocolate, not milk. As you can tell from the pictures, she gets almost as much ON her as IN her. Sunday morning Matt caught her on the counter in the kitchen feasting on a 1 lb bar. Not sure how much she ate but she was wild for several hours after.

Christmas 2009

This year we stayed home for Christmas, my family came from Minnesota and Indiana. It was lots of fun we even had snow... loads of it. Here are some pictures.

'Little Shower'

This conversation actually took place several weeks ago but he requested that I take a little shower this morning too so I thought I'd share. I got home from the gym Poppy was sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for me. I told him to head downstairs and I would be there in a bit, I had to shower. He asked "what kind of shower?" I then said "what do you mean, what kind of shower?" He said I should take a 'little shower' when I asked what that was he replied "a quick one so you can get downstairs faster and make me some breakfast, I'm hungry" That's my boy.
